This is our sweet baby smiling in his sleep. Oh and what is that...a dimple. How stinkin cute is that. We are totally in love with our little baby. It is so amazing how much you can love them so instantly.
Jace had his two week appointment yesterday and everything looked really good. He now weighs 6 lb. 12 oz. and he measured at 20 inches (i think they may have measured a little off in the hospital). Two weeks old... I can't believe it.

Baby Story

On Tuesday January 8th I went to the Dr. for my 36 week check up and he said that I was dialated to a 5+. We all kinda thought that I would have him that night so Dr. Dewey sent me to the hospital. Well at the hospital nothing happened and the Dr. didn't want to start me that early. So I 'got to' stay in the hospital for about a day and a half and then they sent me home to stay on bed rest, hoping I could make it a week or two more. Well I did make it a week.

On Tuesday January 15th I went in for my 37 week check up to see if anything had changed. I guess I had dialated a little more but still no labor. The doctor couldn't believe it, he even had to do a double check. He felt that it would be safer to send me to the hospital and start my labor so I wouldn't end up having a baby on the freeway... in my car. So off we went to Utah Valley Hospital to have a baby. Talk about anxiety! They gave me my epidural first because they knew I would go fast. So when I was comfy they broke my water and started the drip. Badda Bing, Badda Bang, Badda Boom...he was here in 30 to 45 minutes (I do labor really well).

At 7:21 pm on January 15th we had ourselves a 6 lb, 8 oz, 19 1/2 in. baby boy. We named him Jace Logan Allred. Wow is he beautiful.

That night we had a few small worries, first they said that his heart was beating irregular, then his blood sugar was low. But by the end of that night they had both stabalized. Before we left the hospital they told us that he was a little on the jaundice side and that we would have to bring him back the next day to see if he needed to be under lights. Turned out that he did have to be under lights so we rented this little suitcase of lights that we could take home with us. We had to leave him under the light all the time except to feed him. I was devastated, although he really didn't seem to mind. It made me sad that I couldn't hold him and comfort him but he did really well under the lights. In fact I think he slept better at night with the lights. He had to be under light for 2 1/2 days. Since then he has been good. Sleeping great during the day and hardly at all during the night. SOOO HARD!!!

BLOG UNDER CONSTRUCTION

I have wanted to do this blog for a long time but I haven't had the time to do it. I still don't have much time to do it so it might come together slowly. I want to post some pictures for all to see of the new babe so here is my attempt, we'll see if I know what I am doing.
